1979 Apple II Plus

In this project, we pay tribute to Steve Wozniak and one of the most influential computers ever created: the 1979 Apple II Plus.

Using AppleSoft BASIC in High-Resolution Graphics (HGR) mode, we programmed an illustration based on the iconic photograph of Steve Wozniak holding an Apple II like an accordion. Every line of code was written on the Apple II Plus itself, demonstrating the creativity and accessibility that made the Apple II a revolutionary machine.

The Apple II wasn't just another computer—it helped define what a personal computer could be. Its approachable design, built-in BASIC, and expandability gave countless people their first opportunity to learn programming, create software, and explore computing at home.

This project is our way of honoring Steve Wozniak's vision and the machine that inspired generations of programmers, engineers, and computer enthusiasts.

Without the Apple II, the personal computer revolution would have looked very different. It gave ordinary people the ability to write code, create, experiment, and truly make the computer their own—a legacy that continues to shape the technology we use every day.
